Help me choose.
I have some nice firearms, I'm rounding out my collection.

I can't decide between a Sig 225 or a Beretta 92fs.

Which of these two (get a Gock not needed) would you select and why.

I won't carry either, I want a good shooter.

Just these two.

Never shot a Sig before and after some of their marketing stunts I won't, either. 8)

My vote goes for the Beretta, because of that and the fact that I have shot those and they are mighty fine shooters.
So my vote is cast. Get a nice Beretta. Maybe that special Army edition with the green grip? It looks pretty damn cool.

While I'm a huge Sig fan, between the two I'd highly recommend the Beretta also...I just think it is a better general purpose gun

92fs - it was my first handgun and I still have it to this day. It is the gun I compare every new one I get to and it is just all around a great, reliable 9mm. I love it - won't ever get rid of it.

I don't know, Sigs are suppost to be good guns, but so is the Beretta. Having never owned a Sig, I don't know if they are worth the extra money. But I do know the Beretta is. So the question comes down to "single stack" or "double stack"? My choice would be the double stack, Beretta.

The Beretta is a very pretty pistol, SIGs are rather homely, I own 5 SIGs and 3 Beretta pistols, if I could only own one pistol it would be a SIG. While I have not had any problems with the 92f I really prefer the P226 to it hands down, it just performs better. Faster follow up shots and better groupings with the SIG vs my Beretta, nothing bad to say about either one, but the SIG sits on my night stand the Beretta in the vault.

I hate to say it but between the two the beretta gets my vote. And the "army" version with the green grips huh? Funny thing....the army doesn't have them at all. Maybe its something that has happened that I just haven't seen in my time doing quals with the M9.

Sir, no one can help you choose your gun.

What you are going to use it for, and how it feels and shoots in your hand is all that matters.

Oh yeah, I've never seen one of those either, only the plain jane black ones with a ton of dings on them. And I do mean a ton of dings. ... And dented mags ...

But at this latest gun-show it seems there's some sort of Army commemorative edition. It's your basic M9, with U.S Army stamped on one side of the slide and these dark green rubber grips. Looked nifty in that "I'll never shoot this, but it's kinda cool" way. Didn't mean to call your cred into the game here yo. I'm sure you're not the only one on these boards to have qual'd on an M9.

In terms of size and magazine capacity, imo, a more appropriate comparison would be between the SIG 226 and the Beretta 92. In addition to how the gun fits you, probably the biggest question when making the choice is whether you prefer a safety (the Beretta) or not (the SIG). Another consideration is the cost of the pistols in question. The SIG is considerably more expensive than the Beretta. Whether the cost difference is justifiable or not is a matter for debate . Both pistols have similar reputations when it comes to reliability, durability and workmanship: EXCELLENT on all counts!

LOL! It's so funny that people have to put this in the first post these days.

I have not shot that sig, but I can tell you that the B92 design is a very good shooter.

I'm rounding out my collection

my understanding is the sig 225 has been discontinued so if you want a NIB then that is the choice i'd make...........

the beretta 92 will still be in production for years to come and you can always pick one up later on.

The Beretta 92 line of pistols are fine guns. I've owned a 92G and 92FS and they both went bang and hit what I was aiming at every time I pulled the trigger. Very good looking guns as well.

My vote is for the Sig....I hate the trigger action on the 92's....and berettas have never seemed as well balanced as sigs to me. But you should shoot them both.....to each his own.
