802 - are you thinking of using this gun for a little varmit hunting as well as plinking? Squirrels? Jackrabbits? Or just plinking?
I ask as, if any hunting, and you might be putting the rifle on a rest like a sand/bean bag. Any magazine that extends below the gun will interfere with resting the gun on a surface. The exceptions are "tube-type" magazines or Ruger's 10-shot rotary magazines.
You may have already discovered that bolt-action or longer-barreled rifles are usually the most accurate, but are the slowest shooting. If you plan to mainly shoot "off-hand" (no rests), the protruding magazine won't be a problem.
