Help me find this gun!

I'll admit it, I'm an auto guy, but I saw this picture and fell in love. Problem is, I can't find the gun for sale anywhere!

S&W Performance Center 629 Comp, 3", unfluted cylinder. Any help would be appreciated.

No offense or flame intended, but you MUST be an auto guy to fall in love with that one!!! Keep an eye open for a much less.... ummmm..... visually jarring example of 3" M629, the Trail Boss.

I've had my eye on a couple of the PC guns. One of these days...maybe I too will own one!

Don't know what to say, that one just caught my eye, the unfluted cylinder is great looking, and the removable comp is a nice option. I like the full underlug.

I must admit that I like the appearance of the unfluted cylinder, esp on stainless guns. But I could live without the comp - just give me a 4" barrel. Or a 5" barrel.

did S&W ever put out these guns with anything other than a 2 or 3'' barrel?

I've been doing a little research on this in the interim.. it seems that the weapon was released in 3" and 5" variants, I've not seen the 5" in the wild.

Cratz2: The comp is removable, you just swivel it off and replace it with a locking cap to protect the rifling and crown. I wonder if you could thread a flash supressor in there

it would be damn funny to see that with a Vortec flash hider on the end...dont think it would help much on a 3'' 44 mag though

and youd still have a lot of cylinder flash.

saw a movie one time, guy had a silencer on a revolver. looked damn silly, couldnt have worked worth a damn...

i sure would like to find one of the 4 or 5'' V-comps

Oh... I know. I've shot a very similar gun with about a 4" barrel, probably just like the one SkaerE posted. I just don't want any part of a 2" or 2.5" 44 Magnum. I think, for me, a 4" barrel with a 1" removable comp would be OK.

I find both guns to be pleasant to look at, but the longer barreled S&W (with the compensator) to be more aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

I wonder what .44 special loads would feel like it the longer barrel?

Is it just me or are those grips butt ugly? I would be displeased with them on a Taurus, much less a $700 custom revolver!

now this is more like it!!! (the grips anyway)

BTW, I'm a fairly small framed guy, and I had the oportunity to shoot a 3" Model 29 with full power loads the other day. It wasn't too bad.

Hogue Bantams will be the first thing I buy for the weapon, besides ammo.. I like the look of wood grips on revos, but they're none too comfy to shoot.
