So for some reason I've got it in my head that I want a .44 magnum. My first lust was for the the 629 PC V-Comp but besides range use I'm guessing it would get limited time outside of the safe. Then I came across the shorter version with the 2 5/8" barrel, item number 170135. Seems nice from the pictures, I love the unfluted cylinder for some reason, and seems like I could use it for winter CCW. Unfortunately, I've yet to find any of these at any local stores so I could at least handle one and get an appreciation for size.

Would this be a gun thats able to be carried? I normally carry a CCO 1911 so weight isnt a huge deal. Anyone have any experience with this model? Maybe even some comparison size pictures or how it's carried?

The 627 UDR (Ultimate Defense Revolver) is the same gun in .357 Magnum. I haven't carried mine, yet, but people do carry them. Weight wise it is about the same as a Government Model Colt.

snubby 629s

THR noob, but couldn't help but respond....I recently acquired an example of the PC model you mention but haven't carried it. I own, and have carried many times, another snubby 629 that has non-adjustable sights. I'm told it's un-catalogued, but has been offered a couple times, once pre-lock, and once since the advent of the IL (mine)......My favorite method of carry is a plain, custom-made holster that sells for 60 bucks and can be worn between belt and jeans. It serves as a cross-draw for use when driving and can also be worn strong-side.....Might add that both guns are very accurate with 240 gr. handloads at 40 feet.
