Help me ID a Taurus revolver

This revolver belonged to a good friend’s brother. Brother died, and my friend now has a lot of his guns. He’s keeping the ones that mean something to him and selling the rest to close friends. I’m interested in this revolver but have no idea of cost or model info. It’s a .357

SN is KC421###

Anyone know what model it is? Maybe a fair value?

Also, and this is such a rookie question, but I’m a revolver rookie...is this modeled after a S&W revolver? And if so, what “frame” style?

I think its a 66 but open the cylinder should see the model # (I think they put the model # there just like S&W)

That’s a nice looking revolver. Wikipedia says that model was made from 1988-1998

My 689 has been excellent. It's circa 1990. Get one if you can.

I have a 689 with the 6 inch barrel. I absolutely love it. I honestly believe my specimen is nearly equal to the S&Ws of the same era. Beautiful blueing and great fit and finish.
