It was on some show on Disc. Channel or Maybe History Channel...

The guy was seated (in this contraption) with four, large rotating 5 (?) barreled machine guns around him, furiously spewing out thousands of rounds while he swiveled around like in a turret with glee.

They mentioned not many people owned this sort of "thing". Just wondering what it was called, I forgot and now it is driving me nuts not knowing!

He was in some group of guys that goes out into the desert once a year and shoot off the big stuff. Major stuff. Even I was shocked to see the stuff that we gun nuts own.:what:

I think that's the quad minigun that tipped over and crushed a little girls head and killed her.

First - "firearms enthusiast" not "Gun nut". Don't buy into thier propaganda. Second, that's probably Mike Dillon, owner of Dillon Precision, where all those great reloading products are. The show may have been American Shooter, which did a special on Dillon some time ago. He also owns a former Air Force jet trainer, and sometimes attacks ground targets on the huge range he owns in the AZ desert. He started reloading due to his full auto hobby!
He also has a similar turret with a chain gun on one side, and a mini gun on the other. All his kids have full auto, and some times they have big night shoots at remote controlled aircraft, using tracers. Perfectly safe where they are, and looks like a lot of very expensive fun. You cannot be a nut and have this kind of money, unless you are John Kerry....

Sounds like the "Quad-50" I saw fire at Knob Creek. It's not self-propelled, but I believe it has a hitch to be pulled as a trailer.

The unfortunate incident involving the little girl was reported to have happened at the Creek. Not sure if it was this weapon that was involved.

yes that was mike dillon,it had his son and daughter on the show, his daughter was shooting a SAW.they do areial shoots also down there.mr. dillon has remote drowns that fly so they can take target practice on them.he also has a old millitary trainer jet that has working 50cal's for ground targets.

Are their any pictures or info available about Dillons stuff online?

The planes and guns that is...

He puts out a dandy catalog too.

And I'm proud to be a gun nut, "enthusiast" sounds like some guy wearing a tweed jacket and smoking a pipe in some dark library.

It was probably the episode of "Monster Garage" where they didn't finish the car in the allotted time. Jesse took it out to the desert and let Mike Dillon "dis-assemble" it with his more modern version of the old quad-50 anti-aircraft vehicle (sorry, I don't know the designation off-hand) where the M2's were replaced with mini-guns. Yes, four mini-guns firing at the same target at the same time; 12,000 rounds a minute.

That was Mike Dillon and family and friends. He invites them out to a remote desert location and they shoot at remote contolled airplanes packed with explosives when someone gets a direct hit there is a very large explosion.
