So I've put maybe 5000rds through my G22, with nary a problem. Except that due to my less than stellar eye sight, it's difficult for me to get great accuracy past 50 yards, and I'd like to get good out to 100 yards with this rifle.

Anyway, that's where a scope comes in. The G22 has an integral picatinny rail, so a mount isn't needed. All I require is a scope and rings. Since I'd heard good things about Simmons scopes, that's what I've been looking at so far. Keep in mind this is for a .22lr rifle, so I won't be going past 150 yards, and will usually be using it for 25, 50, and 100 yard distances. I'd like to keep the price under $100 if possible (though slightly more isn't a big deal if it's worth the extra money).

So, any suggestions? I don't have much experience with scopes, so I'm pretty much stabbing in the dark here.

When I had the 4x32 scope on with simple rings it was too forward so I had to lean in. So I went an extra mile and got the proper mount (and while I was on it, a bipod). With it the eye relief is pretty normal to me.

Rifle itself reaches out to 200m surely, 250 maybe. At 150m I grouped 10cm at first (shooting it for the first time), haven't tried it now when I'm more accustomed to it.

For what it's worth, I ordered a Simmons 3-9x32 w/parallax adjustment. I got the more advanced scope because I have to get used to all the adjustments for when I get my scope for the M1A.

Alright, so I got the scope in, and I went to mount it to the rail, but lo and behold: The rail is too wide! Waaay too wide. Stupid question, are there scope rings available that will clamp to a wider rail?

It's a weaver rail (21mm), so what rings do you have? 16mm dovetail?

What do you need is correct weaver rail rings.

When I scoped my G22 I had similar problem, most of the rings were dovetails, not weavers, and that's not all, most weaver rings were 1inch ones, not 30mm I needed; so I had to buy the mount on the pic, with the added bonus of proper eye relief.
