So I have a rifle (Walther G22), and I have a scope (Simmons 22 Mag). The scope came with standard 3/8" rings. Problem is, the G22's integral rail mount seems to be picatinny standard (measuring tape says the rail is a hair wider than 13/16"- picatinny standard says the width of the rail is 0.835", which looks like it's on the mark).

I have no idea what kind of scope rings I need. Does the 3/8" measurement measure the diameter of the ring, or the width of the rail it's supposed to fit? I'm stumped here, and haven't the foggiest clue as to what kind of rings I need to fit my rimfire scope to my G22.

Thanks for any help/info. :)

Some .22 rifles have a 3/8" groove for mounting optics. It's just like what you'd find on an air rifle/bb/pellet gun. The Marlin 60 is the first that comes to mind. Others, like my CZ 452, have an 11mm groove. Your G22 has a standard picatinny/weaver rail and uses weaver rings just like you'd use to mount a scope on a full power rifle. You just need a set of weaver rings that is the correct diameter for your scope - I think 1" on that 22 Mag. Try this link to Midway for some ideas.
