help me with christmas for the wife

I'd like to buy my wife a nice rifle for this christmas. She's been hobbling along with a howa in 30'06 for awhile.

She'd like a 308 or even 7mm mauser. I'd like to buy something like this:

1. bolt action
2. nice trigger
3. will shoot 1 moa or better
4. stainless
5. nice wood
6. light engraving
7. <=1000 wholesale

so...
any suggestions?

FWIW, I've looked at the browning white gold medallion (in '06 since they don't do 308) but I'm not too taken by the fact they stamped a big advertisement in the middle of the receiver.

No engraving but the Kimber M84 classic in 308 / 7-08 fits the rest of the criteria.

Hey bigger, all I know is that she got all gushy over a model 70 supergrade in 458 that she got from her dad, and I know she'll never shoot that.

I looked at the kimber site but didn't see a stainless option.

Where I'm coming up a bit empty handed is in my search for a stainless action/barrel mated to a nice walnut stock.

So far, the browning is the only thing that sorta fills the bill that way. I'm just hoping to turn up a few more options to consider.

You can. It`s called a 7-08 and just about all manufactures offer them.........

I know that. The Mountain Rifle isn't made in 7mm Mauser or .308, but it is made in 7mm-08.

first off does she have a sister?? and if so does the sister mind if i have a wife.. buy the remington in 7-08 and have a stock made for her with the money you save... wish my wife would get gushy over anything in the safe...the i wouldnt have to hide the new ones from her..

another vote for the kimber. i looked at one at the gun store the other day. if it was a 30-06 id have to make some more room in the safe.
