Ok guys, I need some expertise here.

I just got my hands on a smokin' deal on a Beretta 92S. No way no how I could pass it up, now my dilema....

This is an old gun, mag release bottom rear of grip. Will the newer 92/92fs mags fit?

I hope to get hands on a few to check but I need to buy some and don't wanna have to go thru the hassle of sending them back.

Thanks for any help.....

they make magazines that will work with both style releases. i have a 92S as well and have a couple of these magazines.

you maybe able to cut a magazine to work.

The gun came with 3 mags. 1 won't lock in. the other 2 have a hole on lower right side of the mag body. Have to assume the hole has to be there. For the stupidly low price I can live with 3 mags. Will search till I find more.

Ok, I found/bought plastic factory grips to replace the ridiculously smooth wood grips on the 92s. Cleaned it up, while it has ALOT of holster wear (previous owner is an armed security officer) the bore is pristine and it cleaned up perfect. :)
Has enough wear to constitute character. It does not fit in a Blackhawk Serpa holster :cuss:(rounded trigger guard). Hopefully it will fit in other holsters made for the 92F/FS. For $150 I think I did ok, and now I have a full sized 9 to play with until I get bored with it.:D

With all respect, SgtGunner (and I mean that), maybe it isn't such a good deal after all.

I say that because you've got magazine issues, a funky mag release deal, grip panel issues and holster issues (it doesn't fit in your serpa holster), etc.

On the other hand, for 150.00, it's a very cheap "range gun."

Ok posting a pic as requested. Just quick shots ignore the glare.

The magazine issue is not an issue, found half a dozen tonight for $10 each. I don't mind the funky mag release, and I found some plastic grips online for $25.

The only downside at the point is the serpa, but there's alot more makers out there. So all told $235 for the gun with 9 mags. Not so bad, all in all.
