Picked up another 92FS with a curved dustcover today. Got it at Academy.

I gave up trying to find one with factory night sights, after going to many, many gunshows in a row. Plus, the standard ones have all been scratched to hell at the gun shows... It's a 90 minute drive each way to the Houston gunshows... So, I just paid a few bucks more and just bought it local...

It's another regular 92FS with the curved dustcover and backstrap indentation...

That particular style of 92 is my every day carrygun, and I wanted one more exactly like it (my other 92FS as the straight dustcover and no rear strap indentation). I'll probably send it off for night sights soon.

Anyway - the Wheel-O-Berettas now has NINE 92s... I also have a PX4, but I don't fit it into "the wheel" :D:D

Good for you. I like to live vicariously through you and your Beretta's.

Can the non-railed models, whether straight or curved dust covers, use the same Comp-Tac IWB holster?

Yes they can - no problems in that regard :)

Now you need one is stainless steel

I generally prefer stainless or silver guns. In 1911s, that is my preference. With polymer guns, I love the contrast of the black frame and a stainless or hard chromed slide….

But the Beretta 92 is the ONLY gun that I PREFER in black. I don't care for the Inox models, personally. I did own a couple years ago, but I just always preferred black ones.

So, no plans to get one in Inox. Sorry.

Just ordered my first Beretta 92FS today after viewing your "Wheel of Fortune", i.e., it cost you a fortune to buy that wheel.:D

My biggest dilemma was choosing between the Italian and USA versions. Personal opinion was all over the map with little supporting facts to differentiate quality of one vis-à-vis the other. I let money talk and decided on the USA version which was cheaper.

I am building a different kind of wheel; one that has the top sellers from different manufacturers; I am also picking up my CZ75BD nest week. I am keeping my wheel like the original – Ferrous.;)

Well, I have never been a 40 fan. I prefer 9mm...

Shipwreck, surprised you're having such trouble finding an angled dustcover, backstrap indention 92fs w/ factory night sights. I found my police special with these features last year on Gunbroker for a very reasonable price.

Well, I found my main carry 92 with factory night sights at a gun show almost 3 years ago.

I was hoping to come across another - they tend to pop up around 1x a year at the houston gun shows.

But, I look at a lot of Berettas. Something like 60%+ of them are scratched up pretty bad brand new out of the box. Beretta 92s are the one gun I won't buy online. I skipped buying a standard 92 (like the one I got today) at the last gun show because all of them were all scratched up.

If its a carry gun, I don't care. But at this point, I'm buying them to collect (some of them)

Gotcha. I'll take your word for it as you obviously know what you're looking for and have likely seen and handled more Berettas than 99.99% of the shooting population. I was looking more for function and overall "general" condition when purchasing mine.

Shipwreck....you are missing one of these (pic below)

But, I have admired your wheel of time for some time now!

This one is just a week old to me :D, But a well preserved 30 year old indeed!

Bought it without even holding it! Seen it in case, 2nd shelf, told dealer (friend) "take that Beretta up front! -I am taking it home with me"

Did not even know it was 92S til I got it home!

But Very Happy, I Am! :)

Yes, that is very nice.

However, I have a strong aversion to used guns. Plus, I won't buy a gun if I can't put rubber grips on it. Older Berettas like that typically can't use the same grips as modern models.

Those are very nice and I have looked at them many, many times, though...

Nice wheel Shipwreck. :D

Will you add some of the more rare 92-series pistols in your collection, like the Combat, Billenium, Steel-1, etc.?

If I ever see a 9mm Steel-1 locally, I'd be VERY tempted to buy it.

I don't like the steel because of the vertec grip.

I do want a Billenium. However, their prices have jumped from sub $2k to close to $3k.

I just recently sold a $3k 1911. I don't wanna drop that much change on a gun again...

Shipwreck:

I was looking for rubber grips for the new 92FS I purchased. Are there any you would recommend? Also, looking at the CDNN sight, under the 90 series, the designation NP3 is listed. Do you know what NP3 means and will the parts listed with that designation fit the 92FS? Thanks.

Np3 is a coating by Robar. It is the best rust resistant finish there is.

My 2 carry 92s (in the picture above) have silver grip screws... Because, teh screws are NP3 covered. When carrying IWB, the inside grip screws rust easily. NP3 covered grip screws solve that problem. never an issue anymore.

As for the grips, I bought a new set last night. Midway USA has them, but I bought them here last night: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KORBWG

With the price of the grips AND shipping, they were the cheapest
