I keep looking for a factory made Pic. rail for my 39 a. Anybody know a company that makes one. I will not tap the top of my action. I'll modify a rail but I'd never touch the original on this gun.
Please let me know asap. This is a great site for this info and I really like it here.
Thanks ahead of time. I'll be checking for an answer.

If Weaver cross-slot mounts will do instead of a true Picatinny, Weaver offers a one piece base (#90) and a two piece setup (#16 and #28).

Thanks. I've just about gave up on the picatinny. Thank you for the help. I'll check this out

I looked at them and sent an email. I used the picture they used to show the screw points and that works. It the length that concerns me. The top of the action is flat and just a bit lower that the barrel. This could be them just using one of their rail drawings and including the holes.
I hope to have an answer by tomorrow.
Thanks for responding

@Brando73 if you do not see an email, give them a call. With the wuflu, and PA, they may not be back to full strength. Good people, I have bought a lot from them....

Thank you all for your help. EGW has the part and I can't thank this site enough or it's members, for allowing me to be a member. I expect to drain all the info I can learn from you guys/gals till you say stop.
Blessings to all of you.
I'm not rich but I would feel good if I could make a small donation to the operation of this site. How do I do that? It won't be much but it would be worth it.

Help me out here. Are you saying the receiver is drilled and tapped and you don’t want to have it done to accommodate a picatinny rail with a different hole pattern? Or are you saying the receiver isn’t drilled and tapped period?

EGW bases that I’ve mounted are pretty long and some stuck out over the barrel. I sawed off the rails to make them even with the end of the receiver then touched up the bare metal.

No. The top is flat and has holes for a rail. Where the holes are, above the ejector, EGW had a rail that matched up, but the picture they used was just to show the holes. They have one that has a dove tail that fits the flat attachment points and extends down the barrel with a rounded bottom for a perfect fit. Sorry I wasn't clear in my post. But when your as dim as I am, what can you expect....Ha
