I have an old "T. Parker" 12ga with damiscus barrels and exposed hammers. Not much on the gun for info except name on side plate and nitro stamped barrels and proof marks. I currently own two old "Parker" sxs 12's and they do not look even close to this one. I need to find out alittle history to carry out a repair but so far drawing a blank :banghead: . Any company info would be appriciated....

many guns were made by crescent and lesser manufacturers for jobbers who had names similar to famous makes stamped on them. I kid you not! i have seen a very few over the years, and parkers are the most commonly "faked", so to speak. the guns were not actually fakes, of course, but were designed to deceive. it is a part of Americana, and these guns are fairly rare since lower grade guns do not generally survive the years. it should be obvious if the gun is actually parker, of course.
good luck!

Thanks.

Thanks Chiefs.
I thought that it may be a contracted gun for some obscure hardware or dry goods store. I was guessing sometime in the 1890's. But it never occured to me that it could be a name to simply mislead the buyer. I guess that I thought that people were alittle more honest back then. lol... I am still going to keep looking as this has turned into real challange. Thanks again.

:banghead: I also have a T Parker and can find no infromation about the gun. If you find any information please post or e-mail me. I have been looking for quite a while and have not found much. I have found some that say t parker was the fire arms that one of the parker brothers made before the parker bro company. I have also found where people have said it was a copy.

another possibility?

I believe that there may have been some old guns that were marked "T. Barker", so maybe the lower half of the "B" is obscured, not stamped deeply, or rust and crud might be in the way.
I would take a good close look, just in case.
Maybe yes, maybe no.
