My son has recently shipped out with the 3rd Batt.25th Marines out of Brookpark,Ohio,at the send off family gathering the main concern I heard voiced was that friends and family would be out of touch.I used some connections and managed to get unlimited webspace donated,so I have started a site where people can stay in touch by posting open and private messages back and forth and also post pictures and small movies for their loved ones overseas to watch.

I have set up a paypal account in their name and will be sending care packages as often as possible.100% of the donations will be forwarded to the soldiers,I will handle all shipping costs out of my own pocket.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, even if it is just posting a message on the forums for them to read.

The site isSupport our warriors

Please pass this link on to anyone you know that's overseas or has family or friends over there.

Thank you
Steve

Anything to support our troops is a good idea, but the troops have internet and email access, as well as regular mail service. If you have family over there, if they aren't communicating it isn't because of a lack of facilities.

Contrary to what you may have read or heard, the troops are very well supplied. There was almost nothing that I could send my son while he was there that he couldn't pick up over there. Since he was spending so little over there he always had money to spend and the Army had set up banking facilities in several locations.

Don't get me wrong. They are l doing a very dangerous job, far from home in a harsh climate, but they are doing it well supplied and (mostly) well supplied.

I hope and pray that your son makes it home safely. You should be very proud of him.

Thanks for your reply and I'll be sure to file it in the appropriate place.

If you would have bothered to look at the site before your delightful post you would have seen that it is also set up for the families and friends of our troops to get together and support each other as well as stay in touch with our troops.

I must have my bookmarks labeled wrong,I could of sworn that this was "The high road"
