varoadking has a great point. Currently there are a bunch of nice compact 9mm smaller than alot of those .380s mentioned. At the least, try them out.
XD9 subcompact, S&W MP9compact, Sig P239, Glock 26, Walther P99, HK P2000 subcompact.

.380 is a mistake...weak ballistics, limited choice of platforms, and expensive rounds compared to 9mm...

From the original post;
PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO PICK A DIFFERENT CALIBER, THE .380 IS A DONE DEAL.
The lady wants a .380. From comments in later posts by ArchAngelCD, she apparently wants it in a large for caliber gun to reduce recoil as well.

Thank you ugaarguy, at least some people know how to read.

I guess those 2 don't care what other have to say, they have to say what they want. I find that very disrespectful but that seems to be the way things are these days. :rolleyes:

Hello. I agree with you. In the original post the caliber parameters was limited strictly to 380 ACP. Had the question been which caliber in a relatively small, inexpensive semiauto for range, carry and home protection, comments on other caliber pistols would have been both appropriate and necessary for the defined discussion.

Hopefully the thread can continue without the posts that were specifically not asked for and in a polite manner.

Best.

My stainless Sig P232 .380 has nearly 6000 rounds on it without a single malfunction of any kind. It is also much more accurate than I can shoot it. Give it a look.

Don't really understand the response as written, but any fixed barrel blowback .380 will have more perceived recoil than a mechanically
locked, recoil operated 9mm. A P239 in 9mm would be a far better choice than a P232 if recoil is a concern.

I read this just fine:

If you click "other" please explain why you made your choice.

Once again and as previously requested in the original post:

"PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO PICK A DIFFERENT CALIBER, THE .380 IS A DONE DEAL."

It is sad that answers cannot be limited to the original poster's requests, whether or not we individually agree with them. The 380 would not have been my choice either, but this is not what the poster was interested in. The 380 was a "done deal" so the interest and questions concerned 380 pistols.

Locked.
