So I am doing a secret Santa thing and I am trying to finds some gifts.

Here is some details on what the guys is interested in:

Defensive handgun shooting and shooting in general.
Wanting to learn gun smithing stuff. More of a hobby then a job. Interested on books or videos.
Participates in apple seed shoots. Anyone have that one item that was super helpful but no one else ever thought about?

Spending limit around $25

What ideas do you guys have. Want to be unique and not get something that he might already have.

The gift that EVERY shooter is ALWAYS glad to receive is AMMO. Ask what caliber he mainly shoots at Appleseed contests (alot seem to like .22lr) and buy some for him.

A one year NRA membership is about $25 dollars and comes with a magazine subscription. (Select the American Rifleman option for the magazine.)

A couple bottles of Hoppes 9 is pretty good. Even if it's not his first choice of gun cleaner, I don't know anyone that won't use it. (Plus, it can double as aftershave.)

That's three suggestions that every shooter would enjoy for the Holidays.

Get him a couple of gun specific dvds for his favorite 2 guns. Some of them cover more things than others. Ive seen them as low as $8 each.

In that price range, Hoppes Bore Snakes are nice, Ammo, Ammo, Ammo. Pistol Rugs, Cleaning kits, Targets... Take a look at Sportsman's Guide, there are lots of inexpensive items there for suggestions, as well as Midway USA...Tools, knife sharpeners, wall hangers for the gun room like signs... A small Chapman screwdriver set or something similar... Shooting is a gadget sport, there are 1000's of them......

The Bushnell Factory Outlet store in Lee's Summit, MO had Bolle' shooting glasses on sale a while back; I got a pair for $15. They have other discount shooting stuff too. 816-525-2220. Call them and see what they can send to you.

Not real practical but unique...

If he is a "Tee-shirt" kinda guy, find a special order tee shirt printing place (local or online) and have them make a tee shirt firearm related with his name on it....

Other than that, one can never have too much ammo.

I second the rangebag suggestion.

I make it a point that I don't want firearm-related stuff for Christmas. And have done so, since I got a couple boxes of .45LC ammo for use in my Kimber...

The Leatherman Wingman is around $25. Home Depot has it right at $25, and Ace and other hardware stores might have it closer to $20.

You can also get some flashlights for $25.

Sportsman Guide has the milk chocolate .50BMG rounds on sale. You get 2 boxes (20rds per box) for about $18. Plus there is free shipping right now. The box looks like little GI ammo cans and can be used to store misc. little stuff after you eat the chocolate.
