Hello,
I have two Ruger Vaquero's that I would appreciate getting a realistic trade value on. I'm not much into revolvers and actually bought these to compliment a holster rig that I couldn't live without. Bass ackwards I know....
The first one is a 4 5/8" barrel, case hardened colored frame with simulated Ivory grips. I have the box and all and have never fired it, and although it is used, it is in very good shape. I don't know how the cylinder line between chambers affects value, but that is really the only sign of use on it.
The other is a birdhead Vaquero with simulated Ivory grips in a 3 5/8" barrel. I purchased this new and have never fired it either. Of course it has all paperwork and the box if that helps the value at all. I saw one of these in stainless with black grips on gunbroker for $555 latest bid.
Any solid, educated guesses will be appreciated. I'm looking for trade in value.
Thank you very much!

Can't help you. You haven't described the guns fully.

Caliber matters.

Also: is the short-tube bird's-head gun a factory setup, or aftermarket? Stainless or blue/fake-case?

Sorry Jim, I typed that in a hurry. The short barrel is a factory thing. No aftermarket work on either one. They are both .45 long colt. Both with factory case hardened color frames, the rest is blued.
MCB - Thanks for the tip, I'll look into that also.
I appreciate it gentlemen!

Good luck trading them for 20-25% below retail value.
You may be unpleasantly surprised at what a dealer that you don't personally know will want to give you for them.
They typically want to make a profit on the gun you are buying AND a healthy profit on the ones you trade in. Always seemed like double dipping to me.
I would expect more like 50-60% of the retail value is what you will get in trade.

The Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) has a classified section on their web page. Vaqueros are fairly popular with SASS shooters, you might try listing there. May be some for sale to give you an idea of value.

You might have to register to see the classified section.

I sold my Old Model Vaquero 44mag 5 1/2" ss for $460 net to me on gunbroker last year.
