Hello, I have a little Beretta tip-up barrel .25 acp and need to repair it, but don't know what needs to be fixed or replaced. If the trigger is pulled DA for the first shot it will fire, but I can't fire another shot no matter how hard I pull on the trigger. Now I can get it to fire by pushing up slightly on that bar on the right side that connects the trigger to the hammer release or sear. Thats the best I can explain it, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, LM.

It sounds like the trigger bar is not re-engaging the sear. The trigger bar spring may be missing or weak, or the trigger return spring may be weak. Did the problem just start, or has it been there since you got the gun? Did you have the gun apart and possibly lose something like a spring? Have you tried just cleaning the gun with a spray gun cleaner?

Thanks for you reply Jim, and yes the gun worked when I got it, but I didn't shoot it much. Anyway the last time I went out & shot it, is when I had the trouble. After that I did take the grips off & remove that bar to see what might be the problem but couldn't figure out what it could be. As to if I'm missing a spring, I couldn't tell you without having a parts diagram. If you can find one please pass it along, thanks. LM

The Model 20 is a relatively rare early version of the current Model 21 Bobcat.

Here is a parts drawing for a Model 21.
Your gun should be very similar although I don't know if the parts are interchangable with the Model 21.

rcmodel, I could not open that web address, probably cause my computer won't handle it. LM

Well I finally got it to open but it doesn't help as I have no referance point to where each part is located on the pistol. Thanks anyway, LM.

Well, the trigger bar spring is located under the trigger bar, under the right grip I believe.

See if there is ANY spring lifting the trigger bar.
If there isn't, there should be.

There is a spring located under the grip held down by a screw and it puts pressure against the rear bottom side of that trigger bar. What I was wondering if there is supposed to be some sort of spring on the front side of that bar. LM
