I carry a p239 concealed and want something smaller and lighter. my choices are g26, kahr p9 or pm9 or s&w j frame 38 spl. Im leaning towards the glock, please advise on how well they conceal.

Thanks....sigfreak

ps im still waiting for a ultra concealable pistol from sig but im getting impatient

The G 26 and the Kahr's both conceal very nicely. I tend to shy away from revolvers so I can't be of much use in that department.

Depending on how you carry, the revolver's cylinder could be a problem. (Revolvers are good though).

I agree with Tac17 that both the Glock 26 and the Kahr both conceal well. They CAN be pocket carried but they are at the limit of what I can carry in my pocket.

I like the Glock 26 and I have heard the Kahrs are nice (but have no experience with the Kahrs).

How do you plan to conceal?

The Kahr's do conceil nicely. I have the P-40 with a Don Hume IWB clip holster and although I'm still waiting on my permit to come in the mail, I have carried it around the house and outside while I'm practicing. No one can see it unless i'm bending over to the ground and the holster probably only goes about 2" or less below my belt, into my pants. So most of the gun is behind the belt or against your back. I don't even notice it's there most of the time.

From a holster makers stand point...all have strengths and weakness's.

The Kahr...thin, small and pack a big punch.....pocket, ankle, IWB...it can go anywhere....and do it very very well.

The Glock, thicker and doesnt hide as well. (those whove carried both will agree...unless you are a HUGE person) Still a killer gun with good capacity carries in pocket but ITS THE LIMIT for ankle/pocket carry. Better IWB gun.

Snub....great everywhere....size/caliber wise anyway. Way too many choices for a "buy this gun" recommendation. From a 12 oz 357 to a 25 oz 357......depends on your budget mainly ....the lighter it is...the more money they are.

Shoot well

I have no experience with the Kahr, but have experience with the G26 and G23 sized guns.

The G26 is not much smaller than the G23/G19 sized guns. If you add the Pearce grip to the 26, the length of the grip will be same as the 23/19 sized Glock.

IMO, you are better off going with the G19/G23 sized Glock over the G26 for carry purposes. The weght tradeoff and size tradeoff is negligible.

G 19 size weight empty is 20.92 oz
G 26 size weight empty is 19.75 oz.

The G19 size gun is much more shootable and easier to manipulate in my hands and you have a longer sight radius.

The G26 is better as a BUG.

If you choosed to go with a G26, I would send it off to Ned Christensen for a grip reduction. www.m-guns.com

Hammerless Ultralight, TI, or SC J frame size. About 14 oz. fully loaded vs. about 26 oz. for the Glock. Less firepower but you don't always need a holster and they will fit in your pocket and will fire from the inside of your coat pocket or purse or an old sock.

Hi guys I'm new here and thought I would ad my thoughts.

I carry a Kahr mk .40 and it is, as far as I am concerned the best ccw handgun available. I know some will disagree but it is just my opinion.
The holster I use is a Alessi belt slide and I can wear it with shorts and a T-shirt and nobody knows I have it. A revolver is a pretty good choice as well.
As stated earlier too many good ones avail. to say which one is the tops.

Good luck
Nick

Hi Sig, Like you I am also waiting for that ultra concealble pistol from Sig,hopefully in .380 or better. I Looking for a true pocket pistol in the near future and I am considering the Kel-Tec P3AT but I have not decided yet. Also I carry a Sig P-239 concealed and I am really happy with the concealability of mine. I carry in a Wild Bills Undercover IWB worn on his 1 1/4" double dress belt, that has worked really well for me. Good luck in your search
