Help with my GP 100

I dropped my GP 100 on the concrete driveway this weekend. I know, I'm dumb. I have no excuse other than I just dropped it. It hit on the rear sight right side. It bent the blade a bit and crushed the sight down.

I am planning on ordering a replacement from Ruger but in looking at the sight, I am not sure how to remove the old one for replacement. It has a very thin pin that the manual says is a retaining pin. How do I remove this pin? I don't have a punch that is that small. Any ideas from anyone would be helpful.

You might try finding a brad type nail, file off the point and use it as a punch. Has worked for me in a pinch.

Might as well upgrade. Take a look at the Bowen rough country. It might be the best on the market.

Lovesbeer, I had not thought about upgrading. I have been happy with the stock ruger factory adjustable. What is so much better about the Bowen? I know I am showing my ignorance here, please indulge me.

I have the same question. My GP100 is my nightstand/primary go to gun. I have developed a dislike for the stock sights (not visible enough) and am looking to upgrade. I, too, am ignorant on the matter.

They just provide a better sight picture. I think they are a little wider and deeper. You might also want to try some of the fiber optic sights like those from XS.

I don't mind my GP100 sights, but since you need new ones anyway, might as well check it out.
