Yesterday it jammed some how. It only made a phfft sound, when recocked the spring appeared to be stuck in the cocked position. It's got cobalts spring spacer. IT's apart and can't see anything wrong, although the plunger assemble was cocked slightly in the gun. Now I can't get the air tube to go into the abutment.
With the gun apart shouldn't I be able to see light through the shot tube? I can't and wonder if an over sized BB is stuck.
Thanks for any help.

It's difficult to get that little tube to go back in place you have to keep messing with it. Take it out and try to straighten out the rod that's connected to the rubber plunger .... you'll notice when you take it out it isn't very straight because it's seated in the plunger . This makes it very difficult to reinstall .move it a little more than what you think is necessary and then reinsert .. you may have to jiggle it around a bit..you will get it eventually

While it's apart try running a coat hanger down the barrel preferably one of those plastic coated coat hangers

Sinner I got it. It dawned on me this is football in america day, no one but me is playing with guns. I bought a new one and tore it apart. Yes you can see down the bore. I took a gas welding rod and a jewelers hammer and tapped the blockage out, had to do it twice. First time two BBs dropped out and then knocked another out after. Of the three one was deformed. Back together and seems fine.
Cobalt used a 1/2 inch pipe spacer to stiffen the spring, it brought my gun up from 279.7fps to 328.9. That difference is from one hole in a beer can @10 yds to holes thru&thru.
Also talked to a out of town buddy, said he saw one in an antique store w/the box. He's going back to get it for me. That should be interesting.
Thanks-keep shootn

What brand BB are you using?
Thats a good question. Bought these back in the 90's, tin plated, been in an open cup all this time. I wondered about the tin plate having some corrosion after all this time. The one that jammed measured .177 with my plastic caliper. But with a mic, it's egg shaped, from .176 to .182. I can't see it with these old eyes. Guess I'l dump them, I do have some new copper heads, which used to be good quality, but these have tons of fliers. Once the sun breaks the fog today, I'm going to try n catch the flight of BBs on vid.
Cobalt I do have just a few yellow colored BBs in that batch, never seen them before, do you know what they are?
What the heck is FWIW? IMG_1210.jpg

Sinner if you want some shoot'n entertainment, here's 4 minutes of your life you'll never get back.

I cought some in flight BBs.
My buddy called from the store, $42.95 with a broken cocking lever, I told him a new lever was $15 try to jew the guy down. It's got the original box so I told him get it.

FWIW = 'for what it's worth'.

Can't rightly say what brand your yellow BBs are.

The Copperheads aren't my preference but at least I've never heard of any being oversize. I really like the Daisy zinc plated, even though a few were reported to be oversize. I've shot literally tens of thousands of them w/o a single jam. Not saying they haven't let a few bad ones slip by, just saying what MY experience has been.

Here's a photo of Crosman Copperhead BBs. Notice that the photo is from Crosman's official website. Easy to see why you're getting fliers from them...

ETA- Wanted to say that in the video you can really tell your Red Ryder is putting them BBs downrange at a hell of a clip! Hitting a LOT harder than stock!

It's thanks to your persistence, it's pretty even with my model 25.
I've seen that copper head pic before, mine don't look that bad. I'm surprised they haven't taken that pic down.
