I need to start this off and say that I am an impatient, bonehead, more on that later, but first, does anybody have a suggestion for good sight installation tool that will work on Kahr sights?
OK so here's the story... I had ordered a PM9 2 months ago (black slide with NS) My dealer had a hard time finding one with the black slide. He finally found one but it did not have the night sights so he got it and ordered the sights separately. I spoke to him the other day and he said it came in but he did not put the sights on yet. I called today and he found out they still were not on and he would be out of the shop until Monday. AAAHHH! I wanted to break it in on Saturday (remember i've been waiting for two months for this thing!). So I go up get the gun and sights and decide I'll do it myself since I had done my Glock sights before with absolutely no problem using a wood dowel and a small hammer in a cushioned vise. I start and get the back sight off no problem but when I go to put the new one on it is so tight I can only get it halfway into the dovetail, now I am at the point I don't want to mess it up by beating on it, so I let it go and move on to the front sight and my first tap on the dowel it slides off the base hits the post and breaks it off so I put it down and walked away before I really screwed it up. Now I am embarassed to take it back and have them put it on since I was so impatient and couldn't wait. My thought is now to get the proper tool for the job as I am sure I will use the tool again in the future, so anybody know of a good sight installation tool for Kahrs? Any suggestions will be appreciated by this bozo.
