Help with twist rate on AR

I think one of the barrel makers I talked to summed it up best: "It's no use building your gun around 55gr ammo, because a 1:9 or a 1:7 will shoot it equally innaccurately. It's just crap ammo."

I second this! I have 2000 rounds of USA 55 grain ammo and an AR-15 with a 1:7 twist. I'm pretty much stuck with this ammo but until I can do some serious testing of it on a bench rest...and prove otherwise...it is crap. It may be partly me...it may be partly the rifle needing sighting in...but the jury is still out. Go with a 1:9 twist. You will not be sorry!
