So there I was at work, attending the information desk at the Library, getting ready to close the building, when a well dressed couple walked in approached me . They told me that they were trying to find an auction being held on campus and that they were a little lost. I scratched my head and asked for more information because I was not aware of any auctions going on that night. The guy went on to say that it was supposed to be at some museum near campus and that he could find the specifics if only he could access his e-mail (our computers are for students only). So I let him use my terminal to check his e-mail. Upon finding the e-mail, I saw the unthinkabe. This auction was being held by www.washingtonceasefire.org (!!!) at the Museum of History and Industry.
:banghead:
In my head I was and but I remained professional and even offered to print them out some Mapquest directions to the museum.
Later that night after I had gone home, the irony of the whole situation became clear. A young man who usually goes about his daily routine with a H&KUSP, spare magazine, folding knife and OC attached to his belt, helps a couple of anti-gun folks find an anti-gun event. I just had to laugh.
However, there was a voice in my head whispering "give them directions to Wade's Gun Shop! You know you want to!" Oh well, maybe next time.
