I just found this surfing the website of a local newspaper. Isn’t this interesting… talk about irony and hypocrisy. Not that I’m truly surprised.

Here's the link: http://www.observer-reporter.com/OR/Story/04_27_PA_XGR_GunControl4

A few quotes I think you guys will enjoy…

HARRISBURG - A Philadelphia lawmaker who supports tougher gun-control laws said Thursday he will likely start wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying his gun more often after receiving a threatening e-mail.

"Now that I hear this attitude of people recommending lynching, I'll probably be wearing my gun more and possibly wearing my bulletproof vest, because we now think we're being threatened," Williams said.

I guess NOW he understands why people should be allowed to carry a gun!

Diane Edbril, executive director of CeaseFirePA, an organization that supports "one-gun-a-month" legislation, referred to the banner in her testimony before the committee.

"We are all being held hostage by a small gang of thugs who have hoodwinked the General Assembly into thinking that we cannot and should not do more to prevent handgun violence from ruining our lives and our commonwealth," Edbril said.

:banghead:

This article is a whole mess of issues. From gun rights, to “terroristic threats”, racist banners, and free speech. Oh my!

"We [strike]are all being held hostage by a small gang of thugs who have hoodwinked the General Assembly into thinking that we[/strike] can[strike]not[/strike] and should [strike]not[/strike] do more to prevent [strike]handgun[/strike] violence from ruining our lives and our commonwealth by allowing more civilian gun ownership," Edbril should have said.
Fixed it.

"Now that I hear this attitude of people recommending lynching, I'll probably be wearing my gun more and possibly wearing my bulletproof vest, because we now think we're being threatened," Williams said.
As said before. A lot of anti-gunners are really just opposed to you and I having a gun. They however suffer from an elitist type mentality. Not the kind of people you want running your state... I wonder if GOA would offer him an honorary membership as they did Sarah Brady's son. :D

Cruz said Thursday he plans to amend his bill so that only Philadelphia residents would have to register their guns under a pilot program.
From that it should be obvious that they are merely retreating to a position they feel to be more defensible. I wish this were just the aftermath, but this fight is far from over. We're going to have to keep up the fight. If we let Philadelphia fall to this, the rest of PA will eventually follow.

So, we now have to target:
• HB018: May allow municipalities like Pittsburgh or Philly to put some restrictions on firearms.
• HR023: Allows first class cities to pass one gun a month restrictions
• HB025: Allows cities of first class to pass more gun control ordinances

HB018 and HB025 are the two we really need to stop. If these go through, then Cruz will be able to do what he just threatened.

"I guess NOW he understands why people should be allowed to carry a gun!"

Not people,just him...
