I have had 3 different Marlins and 2 H&R single shots.I have shot both 300 & 400,405 jacket and cast.RL#7 for reloading. They shoot as while many bolt guns.Mild targets loads too bears Hit once shooting is over.I think the ones made with cut rifle bore is best for lead bullets. The older marlins called micro grove. Are best jacked bullets.I saw a HENRY at a gun in Daytona Fla.nice:but over $725.00 & tax.The H&R and NEF single shots are good, and shoot well when you find the load shoots well for you.Good luck.
No experience with the Henry. I too have the Guide Gun and love it. Compact, handy, accurate, sights easy and packs a whallop. I bought mine when they first came out, it has the ported barrel.
Love my SS GG as well. I prefer the side loader to the Henry tube load. Call me old fashioned. If you're not gonna scope it and want nostalgia, look for a Browning 1886. A faithful replica of the original design.
