now i know this thread is really old but i am just wondering and i know it would technically be an SBR but would it be possible to put a full sized butt stock on the mares legs??? cause that would be sweet. lol. i might just custom make one.

I think a "youth" stock would make a fun gun.
But due to the ATF's stupid rules you can't do this without the Red tape.

I'm really eager to try one of these Mare's Legs pistols I know they aren't the most practical firearm on the face of the earth but still even as stiff as I am I like to shoot on occasion for pleasure and pure recreation also I enjoy the way Henry ( who is located in the Socialist Republic of New York ) is finding ways to bypass these archeal and stupid NFA laws and sell what is IMO a SBR without any extra redtape or hassle whatsoever.

Henry is just following the herd.
First was Chiappa, then Rossi. :)
Not much to figure out, just use a receiver that's never been a "rifle" and it passes ATF requirements for a handgun vs an SBR.

Btw mares leg can be brought into cali. Your leo endorsed ffl must put a plug in the mag to turn it into olympic pistol. Fully removable After purchase:p

An old man once showed me a Winchester '92 with a 15" barrel. It had been in his family since it was bought new. He said that he had never fired it.

Finally broke down and bought one it really suprised me just how practical it really is with a two handed grip ( one hand on the forearm the other on the grip/stock nub thing I can reliably hit targets with about the same consistancy as a convential pistol:cool:.

You'll do better at distance if you bring your hands together at the rear.
Separating your hands like that is the least efficient way to shoot for accuracy.
Denis.

Just got one of these for my daughter (9) she can't wait to try it out. I bought a henry youth for her, and it was too big and heavy for her to carry while hiking and hunting. She is very small for her age and had difficulty holding the front end up while shooting, i think the tube magazine loaded with ammo adds a lot more weight than she is used to. She is still a crack shot with her cricket, but wants a repeater. But the great news is that my wife really likes the henry youth, she went shooting with me for the first time in 7 years together and she enjoyed shooting the youth model the most of all my guns. I'm still a marlin guy though...nothing more accurate for the price. The Henrys are a bit expensive but worth the price to get the girls into shooting.

If it came that way from the factory pre-1934, ATF may have moved it from the NFA Title II Short Barrel rifle status to Curio and Relic status as a GCA Title I rifle. ATF publishs the affected serial numbers.

If I win the Lotto, I am tempted  to go the Form 1 route (NFA registration, $200 tax, BG check) and put a buttstock on a mare's laig to make a trapper rifle. But not in my current economy. :(
