Henry single shot rifles

I’m interested in a .223 for a carry/camping rifle in the mountains, but one chambered in .308 would make a great back up elk rifle. That’s a nice looking rifle. Please let us know how she shoots.

I have already asked them about a .357. They said no plans for one, but if enough people bug them, they might. After they get caught up on current production, of course.

This might be one of the rare instances where I can honestly say, living in NJ has a perk, in that I'm friends with a guy who's now working at Henry in Bayone. If there was some reliable way of getting interest in specific single shot rifle calibers i'd pass it on to him to run up the flag pole.

Well, tell him we all want a 357, and if he asks how many all of us are, then maybe we can do a group buy. A "THR" special edition...

and I want one in 30-30 and 45 colt please! :)

That's great; thanks! I am definitely in for a .357 if they offer one. I searched long and hard for a Handi-Rifle in .357 and really like it. But it can't compete with the look, feel, balance, fit, and finish of the Henry. I'll have to shoot and post a side-by-side picture soon.

I really like the idea of a THR special edition, too!

You do know they do custom serial #s, right? "THRxxxxxxxxx" is totally possible.
If you did...
THR0357xxxxxx
THR0044xxxxxx
THR3030xxxxxx
that gives a million possible for each special.
and um... I reserve the right to take 012773 as the last 6 of any of those. :D

I know it's for a golden boy, but who knows maybe a conversation can be had to get them to do a special cover for the bigger ones.

I've edited my prior post several times, as it's sunday, early, and i'm not awake yet. :D
I'll create this as seperate post:

Thought experiment is saying, it's possibly Henry won't want to do custom covers (serial #s are already in their wheel house, so that's just on us to order them like that.) I'd suspect a 3rd party would need to do something like, order a bunch of covers, engrave them to our liking, ship them to buyers, buyer swaps cover, sends back their unengraved one for a core credit.

It's not a no-work purchase on our part, but it's a possiblity.

Would love to see one chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor!
That sounds too anachronistic to me; the platform is perfect for revolver cartridges. I do have my eye on the .243 Win, though, as an all-around general purpose rifle capable of varmints to medium game. To each their own, of course ... and the more the merrier!

I put in my request for a Henry Single Shot in .357 Magnum.

I was able to acquire a H&R Handi in .357 Magnum a couple of years ago. It’s a really neat rifle. It has a 16” barrel and it looks so short most people think it’s illegal. It sure puts the hand in Handi!

I've been told by my contact that .357 isn't happening any time soon, but that "club editions" of currently produced calibers is an option. I'm trying to find out more about that.
