Carefull, those receivers aren't blued steel. They're painted.

Well crap so much for that plan. I was all excited when I got pricing from Henry. They were sold to me $150 cheaper than I have found them at any shop around here. So I guess plan B should I have some sort of medalion made and imbed it in the stock? Or should I keep one of them for myself and sell the other one? If I were to sell one and bite the bullet and go for the Golden Boy it will match then match the Win 94 Golden Spike rifles I have that will one day be theirs. I went ahead and purchased two my boys are 8 and 9 so might as well get them both now. I can't afford a pair of Golden boys at the moment but could manage the one for August.

The receiver cover that they sell already engraved is for the Golden boy model. Unless that cover will fit the Frontier model as well. I will call Henry on Monday and ask the question. I ordered the pair of rifles direct from the factory so I can check the order while I am at it.

Henry 22lr

I own a Henry lever action 22 and not to shame Winchester or Marlin, but the
Henry has the smoothest action of any of them. Their service is the best I have ever dealt with, the owner answers all E-mail and responds himself.
Still a Marlin and Winchester man at heart.

I have a standard henry 22lr lever actions and it suits me and my son just fine. He is 14 now. His first gun (at 8) was a single shot rossi 22/410 combo. Good way to teach safety, mechanics, etc...

He recently bought a 10/22 and I think due to the work early on with the single shot does really well with it. He is in th eprocess of making it very tacticool... as it should be for the young brewing testosterone:)

Well tommorrow is the day. I have had the rifle in my safe for two months now waiting to give it to him. I think I have stripped it down and cleaned it 3-4 times. The action is smooooth I really hope he gets a kick out of it. Although I tink he has already figured me out. I recently swapped my 10/22 rifle that I had and some cash to another member of THR. I got a really nice .357 blackhawk out of the deal. Anyway I asked my boy what he wanted for his birthday. Well I am getting a gun right. I replied what makes you think that. To which he tells me that I really liked that rifle you traded; and you would not of traded that gun if you wern't going to replace it. Little turd knows me to well. I will post a pict tommorrow.

Great gun. The receiver is painted, so it can chip. Very accurate gun for plinking that always goes BANG!
