Here We Go...Miami Mayor Calling For Assault Weapon Ban After Shootings

Heads up, folks. With yesterday's shootings in Miami, the Miami mayor is screaming for an assault weapons ban and urging the Obama administration to take action.

While I believe that Obama has other, bigger fish to fry, I also believe the anti-gun people are waiting for some precipitating event to jump on, and this might be it. Two people were killed, and while that's very regrettable it may not be enough to get national attention; even so it's still something we need to be aware of. Anybody have any ideas on things we can do other than wait and see what starts to shape up as a result?

I think this thread would do well in Activism. With the addition of a plan of action ( like reminding our legislators what happened the last time they supported an AWB) it would fit right in

Police chief has chimed in. If you're not familiar with him (Timoney), my impression is he is strongly anti-first, second, and fourth. I expect a lot of this type of rhetoric and media support of it in order to build up to what so many on this forum are anticipating (AWB II).
