Heres a pic of my new the P-22.

Went to the local gun show on Sat. and came home with a couple of goodies... Picked up a Walther P-22 (NIB) for my son and a SAR-1 (NIB) with 2, 30 rd and 1, 10 rd mag. for myself.

So on Sun we headed to the range. My son put ~250 rounds through the P-22 and Not one mishap. I put ~100 through the SAR1 no problems with it either and VERY accurate right out of the box.

All is all We are very happy with both

Paid $500 for both and both were NEW.

I still want a P22.. tiny little buggers though. I was really suprised by the scale compared to a P99
Glad to hear your happy with the reliability of it.

BTW how old is your son?

Yes it is a little small for my hands too, but it is mainly for him to shoot. He is 11. He is doing really well learning to shoot, Out shot his Grandpa yesterday. :what:

They may be small, but if you can learn to hold it properly and still, and gain good accuracy, your shooting skills with most anything else will improve too.

Great info about improving skills with that .22lr...

Will ANY kind of hollowpoint hiper velocity ammunition expand when fired from the 3.4" barrel??? From the 5" one???

Thanks

Hyper velocity is too hot for the little pistol, it will cycle the action too hard. High velocity is recommended.

You might have better luck with the 5 inch, but High Vel. on my 3 inch barrel shoots flame.

I like Win Super-X, the Remington Golden bulk works ok too. My favorite is the CCI Mini Mag, but it's FMJ, not HP.

Hi there!

Zenon, thanks for the advice....it is just that my gun shop just received a lot of Aguila 30 gr Super Maximum hiper velocity JHP's and they sure look great!!

Will try some of the high velocity, maybe only FMJ or plain lead...

The gun looks great and I shot one today and I really liked it (3.4" barrel). I will be getting one tomorrow first thing in the morning (even though it will take 15 days for my permit to arrive -one permit per gun here- and only after my permit arrives I will be given my gun!!!!)

Just an idea...i know that hiper velocity cycles the action way too hard, but would it be wise to keep those super stong .22's for when I have to use the gun as a backup ?? So lets say that my Glock 25 Fuc#$ up while in a gunfight, then a P-22 with Aguila 30 grain hiper speed hollowpoints will be better than a P-22 with Aguila 40 grain standard velocity LRN, wouldn't it ??

Just use the other magazine with the 40 gr LRN for target practice and keep one with JHP for defense..am I wrong??? Please feel free to make your comments...

By the way, winchester ammo is no longer imported to Peru...so it is either Aguila or American Ammunition..don´t like the second one (VERY bad in .380 acp)

Thanks, please post...

Nice. After I figure out what .45 1911 to buy, the Walther P22 is on my list to get for a plinker.

Rogelio- The hyper should be ok if you don't use it all the time.

And after you get a P22, you can accessorize it!

P-22... Happy, Happy

Hello CZ 100,

I bought a P01 after shhoting my Son's CZ 75. He groups better than I do, so I bought a P-22 to unlearn some bad habits. Took it to the range last week and shot it from a bench rest at 10 yards to see what the pistol would do.

Less than 1 inch groups at 10 yards with a 3.4 inch barrel. Pretty spiffy for a plinker! Unfortunately, the P 22 shoots netter than I do, but practice, practice, practice. Hope you like yours as well as I like mine.

Good shooting,

Scarface

Zenon:

Nice P 22 you have got there man!!

I have noticed that yours has grey grips..where can I get those???

Thanks, btw..I just received mine and I am going to use it today!!Thanks everyone for the advice!

Good Shooting Rogelio! :D

The entire frame is gray except the backstrap insert. It was a limited edition which included both 3 & 5 inch barrels.

Ok...just kind of envy you..great gun!

I went down to the range and just had a blast...shot 350 rounds through it because this little gun is just addictive!!! I love it so much..it shoots really fine!

I just wish that it was powerful enough so I could use it as my carry gun....
