I paid $99.99 for a new Heritage revolver to give to my wife last Christmas. The price was low enough to get it instead of a Ruger Wrangler, especially given its likely limited role as a cheap "plinker" pistol and I felt pretty good about my purchase, maybe even a little smug. Imagine my surprise, and accompanying chagrin, when a couple of days ago, while shopping at my lgs (FFF), I noticed another sale on Heritage revolvers, this time for $69.99 (including the thirty dollar factory rebate)!
Maybe by next year you'll be able to get one out of a Cracker Jack box. :)

Minnesota and Illinois have 1960s style Saturday Night Special laws that ban non-ferrous frames in handguns. They also ban HiPoint pistols.

Zinc or Zimak framed pistols turn wholesome teenagers into juvenile delinquents, but steel frames turn them into honorable scouts.
Thank you very much for educating me. You learn something new every day.

At under 100 bucks, I would definitely buy a barkeep. Looks like the only one that had a front sight and a birds head grip is engraved with roses. Guess I'll have to grow my hair real long and only button my shirts up halfway like Fabio in order to carry it properly.

Quick question on these Heritage revolvers. I know most of them come with a .22 Mag cylinder, which means the frames are sized for .22 Mag, but does Heritage make any that are .22 LR only AND the frame is sized for .22 LR, meaning the cylinders are also shorter?

Or is every revolver that Heritage makes basically using a .22 Magnum length cylinder even if it only comes with a .22 LR cylinder?

Bingo. As a matter of fact, if you buy a Rough Rider that only has the .22LR cylinder, the box will come with a coupon for free delivery on a .22 Mag cylinder, ordered off their site.

I guess then there isn't much reason to get one if it only has the LR cylinder

Ya damned enablers... I did not look at an email I got that mentioned such from a local chain... I don't "need" one but for 70.00 I will get one if they have em. I just sent a grand nephew a NIB remington 700 adl in .243 after his new stepdad took him hunting. This might be fun for him after a while. I had one I got and sold off to a bud for his kids. It was not bad. If I wasn't 800 miles a way he would have been exposed a lot sooner and a LOT deeper! I hope the bug bites him deep :p

I have the Bass Pro flyer for “Black Friday” pricing with rebate on the Rough Rider.

I once had a Ruger Single Six like the Vaquero. Fixed sights, stainless, 6.5” barrel. It had the .22 Mag cylinder so the barrel bore was cut for .22 Mag, not .22 LR. As pretty as that gun was, it was horribly inaccurate with .22 LR, but acceptably accurate with .22 Magnum. I sold it.

I haven’t bought another convertible.22 since and I doubt I will buy one of these even though the price is so good.

plenty of reasons to get one... its only what 30.00 for a mag cylinder shipped.. for defense it would be a bit better but a decent .22lr revolver for less than 80.00 today is a good deal.
we arent talking the"best" .22 revolver by any means nor a serious target gun by any means... heck they would be cheap enough to sell at a local gun buy back or hand out as a loaner if that day ever comes...
