I've been thinking the same for some time now, I picked up some of the Herter's 7.62x39 123 gr Soft Points and the first thing that jumped out at me was the crimp. Looks like a Lee style "Factory Crimp" and Winchester is one of the few manufacturers to use that style in my limited experience...
I bought some Herter's 22LR because that was the only reasonably priced ammo in the store. It always went bang and may be OK for kids shooting tin cans, but generally not good for much else. I wouldn't even call it squirrel ammo. Certainly not for shooters concerned with accuracy.
