Yeah, I wouldn't forsee that happening. Afterall, they have a lot of money tied into the 45GAP cartridge. Have you tried the 37?

I wish they would go to a steel magazine without the polymer shell. That would slim things down a lot by itself.
Do that, put steel sights and a more durable trigger return spring in from the factory, and I might start buying them again. Several, even.

This gun already exists, it is called the Springfield XD.

I don't think we will be seeing anymore slimline pistols from Glock as the G36 has been a loser for them, and now with the 45gap they have set their sights onto other things and I doubt they will be looking back again at more slimline models. In fact I have heard a rumor (please keep in mind this is pure scuttlebutt) that after Glock releases the G38 and G39 they are thinking about discontinuing the G36.

I was looking at 10mm Glocks at the last gun show, but the lack of selection, and high prices of 10mm ammo when I did see any, made me decide to forget about it. This show had a tremendous selection of handgun and rifle ammo at prices as good or better than I've found on the web.

Many here may like 10mm but it seems to be a decending sprial in the marketplace. Few new guns to choose from and lots of overpriced Delta Elites for sale.

Wally,quite to the contrary. There are more 10mm guns available right now than ever,more ammo variety and more powerful ammo than ever before. Ammo companies report selling more 10mm ammo every year. The "downward spiral" turned around several years ago and it`s been growing ever since. Personally that gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling. Marcus

Other than several variartions of Glock and EAA Witness in 10mm along with the overpriced Delta Elites and occasional S&W What other 10mm guns are currently commonly available or still in production?

I don't have any "industry figures", all I know is what I see locally. At a smaller gun show in Pasadena this morning I saw the 10mm Glocks and EAA Witness variations but no others (besides the $1500 Delta Elites), and for ~$200 I could have walked out with all the 10mm ammo on display and had maybe 450 rounds. Maybe its a local thing, but around here 10mm ammo is a bigger gouge than .357 SIG.

I'd probably get a single stack 10mm Glock if they made it thin and small enough.

Check out Collins Cartridge ammo. They are always at the San Antonio and Austin SAXET shows, not sure if they do the Houston area.

I just bought 1000 rounds from Art, payed $175 for 180gr. FMJ. It is once fired brass.

He has new 165gr. Golden Sabers in the $12/50 range. He has a web site, www.cccammo.com but is typically cheaper at the shows.

I have been using his 180gr practice ammo for a while 2000+ rounds, never had an issue.

There are 3 Witness variations (including the brand new Global Hunter long slide),2 Glocks (with an optional 6" hunting barrel for the 20),Kimber makes a 10mm 1911, Dan Wesson makes several versions including a Commander sized one. Texas Arms and American Arms make 10mm derringers. Most of the Premium 1911 makers (STI etc.) make them too. TC makes 10mm barrels for their Contenders if you really wanna wring some accuracy out of it. There are LOADS of S&W 10mms floating around out there for very reasonable prices. Don`t forget S&W`s 610 revolver either. Mech Tech makes a 10mm carbine top end for Glock 20. Several AR makers offer 10mm variants. HK has the MP5-10 if you can afford it. I can`t speak for your area but around here every gunshop I know of carries at least one or two kinds of 10mm (the same can`t be said for .357Sig or .38 Super) and most carry more than that. I generally have 3 brands to choose from if I want ammo for less than $14 a box of 50,the cheapest is $11. That`s the same price .45ACP sells for in the same brand at the same stores. Lately 175gr. Win. Silvertips have been plentiful at $6-$7 a box of 20 also. Marcus

I agree... I've been told the few reasons for the polymer shell is so the metal mag won't damage the plastic frame when being inserted quickly, so the metal doesn't have to have a long term 'pretty' finish, and so the metal portion can be thinner and still not easily damaged. I'd like to think a carbon steel mag with a polycoat finish could be made much thinner than their current mags. It would also probably make it slightly safer for the shooter in the occurance of a kaboom.

Of course, I think it extremely highly unlikely to think they will change all their models over to accept a thinner metal magazine.
