I’ve been checking out the posts here for a while and decided it was finally time to say hi and come out of the shadows. I’m really impressed with this forum and I’ve been learning a lot every time I log on. The maturity level and civility of the members, as well as quite a few very knowledgeable and informative people are what has kept me checking back here pretty much every day.

I’m currently residing in Southern California but I’m from and will eventually return to Salt Lake City, Utah. SoCal is a beautiful place with great weather but I’ll take four seasons, majestic mountains and the chance to really get outdoors over this anytime.

Me and a few guys from my ship get out to the range at least a few times a month and we’re learning a lot there too. None of us are what you might call experts, but at least we get out there in an effort to improve our skills.

Well like I said before, just wanted to say hi.

Welcome. If you are looking for maturity and knowlege, then I am NOT your guy. There are plenty of people here with those qualities though:D
 
You're right about San Diego. It'd be great to get together with some people from around here. Even better if you know of some good places outdoors to shoot. The only place I've been able to shoot since I've been here is at a range, and that's a whole different experiance for me. My friends back home who shoot don't even know what an indoor range looks like.

hso, The American Shooting Center is the range we use. I've got a membership and I bring friends regularly. Good place.

Wow! I didn't realize there were so many Navy types out there. Sort of scary.

I cleaned 8 firearms this morning, I need the ammo to dirty them up again.

Six years in - only ship i was on was the HMS Jervis bay to pick up an ausie chick... 20 min max... <rofl>

I was Classic Wizzard - not a lot of ship duty there...

Was proud to serve either way =)
