After reading the comments i aggree with most that if it shoots without jamming then it rates as a good gun. I personally think glocks are the ungliused guns man made. I am a old 1911 fan. Hi point is cheap and proper maintenance as other guns, it shoots just fine. Maybe some readers should maitain weapons a little better. Even a glock dropped in mud! Your going to go home and just throw it in the lock box. Come on. Not Everyone has unlimited money. I myself have plenty but i pride myself on getting various brands to make conversation with whoever.
Treat it right and it should perform as treated. Just like people. God Bless:)

My limited experience with a Hi Point type pistol(owned by some Asian gangbangers that frequented a range I once frequented) is that the gun is reliable if kept clean and fed quality ball ammo. I suppose I'd possibly pick one up used for like $75 or so if it popped up.

Hi-Point .45 ACP pistol response answer!!!!!!!!!

I picked one up for $145 at the pawn shop that was a real nice looking piece but read on. Considering the shipping at $30 and FCC at $20 and also the waiting, i geuss i am a person who likes to have it when i see it. This one was diffently not cleaned as needed. I noticed the breach at pawn shop that it was filthy inside. Other than that it looked new.
After cleaning it, fired as a champion and almost as good as my 1911 that was $750. A good choice for people with low budgets. Again though, the key is cleanlyness is next to no problems. Whoever owned this gun never heard of cleaning or lubrication and i am guessing probably would say the guns are no good which is plain nonsense. Low budget fun and low budget collection. Use it for conversation at the range. Most say it really works! Wow.For that price. If nothing else its a good conversation piece.
Good luck and use web page to barter a better price than i did!:;) ;)

It's been said that holding a Glock is akin to holding a 2X4, and I agree with that statement. On the other hand, my Hi-Point LOOKS like a 2X4! A darn accurate, reliable 2X4. Some would say when (their word) it breaks, you can hit someone with it. Probably can and make quite a headache for someone.

I got mine new for $150 and he threw in a box of ammo. It definitely has less recoil than my P11.

I think the factory recommends you tear down the gun completely every 2000 rounds or so. I probably won't ever get that far, so I'll just keep cleaning the bore and getting what dirt I can off the breech.

Low price, reliable, excellent home defense for low-income people who don't know how to buy a used gun or go through the internet but still need protection.

I have used My Hi-Point to protect myself and family. I heard noises in the house once and grabbed my Hi-Point. No goblins were found, but I was depending on it if necessary.
