What can you tell me about your experiences with Hi point hand guns? Sure the price is REALLY low, but is that something to base a purchase on? I dont think so since people like taurus and taurus has a low price compared to other big companies.

Anyhow, is a Hi point a reliable gun that will not jam with your in a bad situation with a homicidal maniac? Or is it going to be less reliable then the dreaded jenings/raven arms?

many more hate them than love them;)

All I can say about Hi-Points is that they are certainly good guns when you have nothing else to defend yourself with, other than that at least theyre cheap! I personally would save up a little more and get something more reliable, better looking and accurate, but thats JMHO.

They are crude and clumsy and generally work. The factory has a no questions asked warranty. I have a 9mm and it has functioned reliably for something over 2000 rounds. It wouldn't be my first choice but I would trust it if it was all I had. The biggest weak point is the magazines, they sometimes need adjustment.

Exactly what I would have said.

So I'll just add this.

I had a C9 and allI can say is that better to have "A" gun than none at all. Before you go and buy one, I would recommend maybe working OT or wait out another month or so, add in another couple of hundred $$ and buy a pistol well above the Hi-point build.

Having said that, if you do decide to buy one, it is one rugged pistol...one which you won't mind tossing around the back of your truck or in the glove box. No questions asked warranty = good. Shoots just about anything. Magazines might need tweaking/tuning. Clumsy, heavy, and can be used as a "HAMMER" as a last resort if you run out of ammo! :D

Good luck and doing a search will get you lots more on other peoples' experiences.
