Hi-Point and Steel Ammunition

I've never fired steel cased ammo in mine, but haven't seen anything saying it's a no no. I'd say you're probably okay. If it does something to the gun, they're supposed to have great service and a great warranty (though I've never needed it with mine so I can't speak from experience).
 
I would not be too worried about breaking a hi-point in any case. Not that I believe that steel case ammo is bad for a gun, but just in case it is you would probably save the cost of a new hi-point before too long.
 
I owned a C9 a few years ago.
It fired nothing but steel cased russian 9mm.

I have 3 - 995 carbines and they all shoot steel cased ammo as well as brass cased.
