I just sold my 995, but not because there was anything wrong with it, I just got an offer I couldn't refuse. I had modded it up a little and it looked pretty cool. I found it to be very accurate, as did the purchaser and his friends, several who shot it over the 4th weekend. I don't think you can go wrong for the price of this fine carbine. Sometimes the price doesn't reflect the products quality. IMOH.

I have a 995, a 995TS and a 459TS. The 995 is more accurate than the 995TS which is more accurate than the 4595TS which s more accurate than the 995.

Great little carbines. Accurate, reliable and a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Buy a used on that is beat all to heck, send it in and they will repair it for you for free. Plus they send you a magazine for your troubles.

Mine have been great little shooters.

As to the 10 round magazines, he owner is very conscience of the fact that a 995 was used by the Columbine shooters want to keep out of the limelight. There are aftermarket 15 round mags available. Quite frankly to 10 round mag is good enough for me. Keeps the carbine compact and easy to handle.

A friend of mine bought a used hi point 9, don't know which model but it's a jamomatic. I have another friend who has one which looks identical to the jamomatic but it functions flawlessly. The jamomatic double feeds frequently with both mags he has. Both guns are several years old. I was thinking about seeing if I can get both guns together to see if I can spot any obvious differences in the mags or internals. I also told the friend with the jamomatic he can send it back to hi point and they'll fix it at no charge, but he likes to tinker with things. He only owns two semiauto rifles and as a result has virtually no experience working on them. The likely scenario is he'll try to fix it himself first, then he'll give it to me if he can't, then I'll take it and compare it to the other one. Since I'm far from an expert it would be a lot easier if he'd just send it to hi point to start with.

Just today bought a used 995. Less than a box of ammo through it. For the $125 I paid I am thrilled.

Yup. It's ugly. But in my eyes, ugly is a virtue! Gonna take it to the indoor range tomorrow and feed it a box of Prvi Partizan...

How can I tell when this was made? (without calling Hi-Point)
