Yesterday, I was having a very enjoyable conversation with the gun shop owner that sold me my Bersa Thunder 40.
The guy sells firearms since long time.
Talking from gun to gun :D:D:D:D we ended up discussing about cheap firearms and we touched the Hi-Point "topic", how ugly and unwieldy they are.
To my big surprise the guy told me: They are ugly as sin, heavy and not well balanced but from the warranty and customer service perspective Hi-Point is basically among the best in the industry....very very easy to deal with, no questions to ask, lifetime warranty and free shipping when the gun problem is covered....they often ship free magazines and parts to apologize for the inconvenience....he says that he cannot get that kind of service and treatment even from Kimbers and other premium brands .
Furthermore he told me that Hi-Point guns are very reliable and fairly accurate......is that true???

How good is their compact 9 mm as a car gun???

I bought the .40 Hi-Point about 3 weeks ago. I have over 1,000 round through it. The only jams were with Monarch ammo. Very reliable shooter. I will be keeping it for my car gun. I would get the C-9 if I could find one. Pruett's can't keep one in stock. I have a good friend who is a gunsmith. I am considering sending it (.40) to him to polish the ramp and all around just smooth it up.
I will own another Hi-Point!

Jim Pruett says Hi-Point is the least repaired gun in the USA!

I'll take a rip at that, Carter.

Least repaired? Probably because when they break people throw them away and buy new ones. :)

Ok, gun snobbery off. They are decent firearms for the price, no matter what people say. And this is coming from an S&W and CZ fan.

Deer Hunter, you could be right! I promise you this, if mine needs repair they will get it back!! LOL
Seriously, It is my first Semi-Auto and I am having a blast! It shoot as well as I can at this point. I had a guy in San Antonio shoot it 2 weeks ago to prove to me the inaccuracy was me. Please post up in my thread . I would welcome your suggestions for a carry gun.

My new one shot fine today using JHP's and Lead Round nose loads. The brand new Springfield .45 1911 had 2 FTFs! My new Kel-Tec P-11 worked great as well!
