Today I took the plunge and purchased my 47 handgun;) I Bought a two tone Bronwing Hi-power in Single Action. I haven't shot it yet and I'm hoping it shoots better than the CZ 85 I had because they seem to be built after the Hi-power.

I have read that one of the first things to do to these pistols is to disconnect the magazine safety spring. Is there anyone that can tell me how to do that or is there a web site or link I could go to?

After reading many threads through the months which I have done a search for but can not find I was thinking of jioning the Hi-Power Club, could anyone give me a link as to where to find them??

I am looking forward to shooting this pistol, I will keep you all up dated as to the results.

No relation between the two at all.

My own theory to shoot a weapon completely an absolutely stock for a while, and the start modifying. I know that not everyone feels that way, but I'd shoot the gun for a while and then fix the problems you actually discover.

I have a MK III Hi Power.

I used a moly lube on both the disconnect "button" and the place on the mag where it rubs. Totally removed the grittiness that the magazine disconnect usually imparts.

+1 on Mr Camps site.

Bit of advice FWIW from a BHP owner: Run a thousand rounds through your Hi Power before doing anything. Put a little bit of wear on the moving parts and get used to the trigger before doing any customizing.

I carry an all-stock HP as my SD gun, mag disconnect in and no trigger work.

I run my HP all stock also. Once in a while I put a tiny dab of grease on the mag safety pad when I have the gun field stripped for cleaning. When shooting I never really notice the initial trigger takeup and I get a clean break.

I would also suggest shoot the gun stock for a while.

Mr. Camp's site is a good one to get started with. The M1911 forum has a good Browning section for reference.

I prefer to remove the mag disconnect and put in the 26 pound hammer spring. Those changes make a world of difference in trigger pull.

My HP's trigger pull has been perfect from the beginning, (1985), so I have not done a thing with the mag disconnect. The advice everyone has been giving is right on target, (NPI); try shooting it for a while and see if it doesn't smooth out on its own.
