When I was trying to remove the magazine safety pin, it was so hard I just punted and took it to a smith.
If you're worried, that's what I'd do.

Dang, man. Yours must have never been removed since it left the factory. Never heard of a pin being in that tight.Got it out! Made a shim stack and got an automotive drain plug to use as a ram in the vise... cranked it down until my arms were shaking and finally... CRACK!!!! My son and I both thought the frame must have cracked but nope, it was just the pin letting go. I've NEVER come across a pin that tight in any engine or gun.
Thanks for the advise. Got the mag safety out and it feels smoother now. Not much lighter, but the grit is gone.
Yeah, the vise/press method is definitely the way to go in this case. In future, if something won't budge after some serious whacks with a punch, I'm just going to the vise.I have an arbor press that I use to start the trigger pins moving. I bought the press for another purpose but found it works very well for this job (after dinging a frame with a punch that slipped).
