Hickok45 Removed From Youtube

I'm hoping this is just some horrible mistake, but I just clicked on a link I got in email to a new gun video review by Hickok45 (my favorite reviewer), and got a message that “this account has been terminated due to repeated violations of google policies” ....photo attached. For action as you deem appropriate.

UPDATE: Apparently he sorted out his issue with youtube and is back.

Just noticed it was gone... I don't know the reason either. His one with his son is still up though, as far as I can tell.

Got the same message. He has made statements in the past that he wouldn't be surprised if Youtube started closing down gun channels. Surprisingly FPS Russia with nearly 6 million Subscribers and and 700 Million views is still around.

What do you want to bet that he received no warnings about any of the supposed policies he was "violating" and what do you want to bet there are channels out there just as or more popular than his which have not been shut down for violating even more policies?

I am not sure why Hickok hasn't already started posting content to Full30.com though.

Also interesting that this was done in the wee hours of the night. Hopefully Hickok will make some sort of announcement on his twitter or Facebook.

Forgotten Weapons, Military Arms Channel, nutnfancy, Collin Noir, and lots and lots of other gun channels are still up and running.

There are a variety of YouTube policies, including copyright infringement and lots of other stuff. And there is a human interface for sorting out problems, which I'm sure he's exploring. Let's wait and see what happens and what the reasons are and what the resolution turns out to be.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are dinging him on running his own in video ads. I watch several other channels which are just as popular and get just as many views as Hickok and they run far more ads in their videos.

I wonder what policies he could have broken though. His videos are very basic so I couldn't imagine copyright infringement of anything and all he does is talk about and shoot guns. Hopefully he gets it fixed.

I just read his fb page details are sketchy but it seems his videos wound up on google+ which he thinks is more sensitive about firearms related material. He said he never used google+ and didn't know his videos wound up there.

He is trying to sort it out and will give updates on his fb page and the hickockandson channel.

That's about all I got he posted on his fb just minutes ago.

PS he also posted a new video (was it the file cabinet as a bullet barrier one???) I hope to see it if I missed it before the channel went offline.

"Some of the gun community that uses youtube has been having problems with their accounts. We also received a "violation notice" recently on our channel and thus far, despite our asking, they will not tell us what we did that caused this infraction. Watch your 6, this isn't good."

Until about 5 months ago google+ and Youtube were linked. If you wanted to be on Youtube, you had to create a Google+ account, and the accounts were merged and your Youtube activity was crosslinked on Google+.

That was VERY unpopular and google got rid of it back in July.

Google is really becoming a pariah from their days of saying "do no evil" or "do the right thing"

Apparently, Google + is more sensitive about firearms related postings and such. I never use Google+ and did not even realize the videos were being posted over there, I guess. I will keep you posted via Facebook here and the Hickok45andson channel. I have communicated with YouTube via email this morning, and hopefully, we'll be able to get the channel back up soon. I had just posted a new video.

It looks like Google+ is still there in the background, linked to Youtube. No surprise. Google+ has much more strict policies about their anti-firearm stance.

The FEDS enforce YouTube's policies now? He's posting about the issue on Facebook and talking to his fans, but he's in federal custody?

We'll here we are. He's making very dubious executive actions (Not just in regards to 2A), and "We" just keep taking it. Why.... Because they havent outright banned them YET. One more step, just one more, then another....

YES the federal government exerts pressure on groups to influence their policies. Is there a memo telling them to take down Hickok45.... NO, but they use the Agencies of this government to make it clear that you need to care what they think and what you do or you'll run the risk of a costly run in with one of the many agencies...
