I can get both of these guns for 50% off of the catalogued price. So Mossberg and Remington are not in play here because they would be more expensive to me. (I know its strange, but thats the vendor deal I can get)

Well im not complaining. These guns both look amazing, have great reviews and are looked upon as 2 of the best.

With that said... I have not held either one, nor will I be able to because I have to order it from the factory.

Which do yall think is the better bet? :D

This Browning BPS for $212

Or this Winchester SXP for $175

Either gun will be painted flat dark earth on the stock and handguard to match my other combat gun. :D

I don't like the ergonomics of having to load thru the magazine, and they aren't the lightest, but I also don't think anybody makes a better built shotgun than the BPS. I had three of them and never even a quiver of an issue, and one of my good buddies has had one for his duck gun for 20 years now I guess, also with no issues.

Get neither. Tell me where you're getting those prices and let me buy them. :D

I'd go with the Winchester assuming they accept the 1300 aftermarket parts...probably MUCH easier to find parts for, has a port loading option, lighter. The BPS is nothing to shake a stick at though.

Michiguns site shows a BPS that they have modified with a side loading port. I have no experience with this modification, but it looks interesting. It could be costly to have done and would probably void any warranties, but if I only had $212 in the BPS HC, it would be tempting.

Just picked up the BPS myself--not at that killer price ($349) but not too bad---smooth as silk and I haven't even fired a round in it---yet.

Where is the SXP made? Is it a Turkish gun like the post-1300 Speed Pump?

I'm with Virginian: the BPS is a good gun, but I don't care for the manual of arms for defensive use.

i would go sxp... i dont like the way the brownings thin out at the top of the grip ... feels wierd in my hand... and quality seems more then acceptable on both ....
