I am completely ignorant. I have never seen one in real life, let alone fired one. I'm on a bit of a classic pump kick at the moment and have a line on a pair of 12ga High Standard made JC Higgins Model 20s, both with the Pachmyr Power Pac choke system, an inverted Cutts, with a ported section in front of the screw in choke. Don't know much about them other then that the High Standard made 12s are supposed to live up to their name. Info, experience, opinion, and anecdote welcome!

Pic is example not actual:

BTW, the Great Karnak predicts that at least @Gordon will have, have had, or havw used one...

I grew up using one. And I have a couple flite king 12 guage. I have a semi-auto or two from them as well. They are really a ho-hum middle of the road brand when it comes to shotguns. I like them but they aren't as Good or valuable as a win. 12/ithaca37/ or even rem. 870/mossberg 500 etc. Their handguns were where they meet the namesake.

IMHO

I don't have any with that choke system. Mine are fixed or have the Higgins version of a dial a duck

I have nothing against the choke system.

I love all the hate for the ugly adjustable chokes and compensators. Ive bought guns for half their value just because of them. And other than perhaps being ugly they don't hurt a thing

My agency had a few Hi-Standard pumps, but I can't give any data on them as fortunately I never needed to use one.

Looked nice enough.

The LGS has one exactly like that! I handled it the other day, it has a very nice smooth action. Not a fan of the choke system, but for $200, it's not a bad buy. I wonder if a feller could find those chokes elsewhere?
