I tried doing a search, but the search seems to choke with the words " High standards". Sorry if this is a duplicate thread.

Does anyone have one the High Standards HSTX6500 or 6501 AR-15 yet ? They seem to be from a good company. I would be curios if they stand up to the brand names of SIG and S&W.

Thanks In Advance

I have had 4 from stripped lower receivers. I love them. Just make sure the bolt catch isnt too tight. I few were milled to tight..

I see you are from Tx as well. Do you like them because they strip and you make money off of replacing the lowers or are because they are sturdy. :) Sorry i did not quite understand your statement.

Thanks Again

No, they are good lowers. Stripped lowers mean that you use them to build an AR-15 from a parts kit. Its a bare receiver. I built all my rifles from high standard bare receivers, not high standard factory built guns.

Hmm.. I am thinking I may give one a try. I have some extra money in the kitty and we all know you can never have too many guns. I was leaning towards the Sig 556 SWAT Model. Choices choices....

I once talked to the owner, and a few other dealers familiar with the product.
They seem to be a pretty fine rifle, and the owner went out of his way to hire a bunch of the old Colt/Armalite guys to engineer/build some of the parts.
So i would have no probs buying one...
