Much of the Front Range Colorado was under High Wind Advisory today. My buddy and I decided to go shoot skeet. It was more fun than I have had in a long time. We actually shot in the 20's in 30-40 mph wind with gusts even higher. It was wierd. They would dive in the dirt, sail in all directions, almost come to a complete stop, and dance all over the place. You literally had to change your stance to keep from being pushed sideways. Doubles took on a whole new challenge. That was fun.

:):):):)

The most fun I ever had was with a 20 mph head wind. The clays would land at your feet or behind you if you didnt hit them. After that I wanted to set uo my thrower so it would throw them at us.

I was at Buffalo Shooting range in Ottawa Il, today and the winds were pretty strong. I must agree it was really fun and interesting to shoot under strong winds. Especially because I brought out 2 new shooters that never did it before and they went absolutely nuts every time they actually hit the clay.

Shooting clays in high winds is really fun and much more challenging. Really throws you for a loop when they start dancing around in the air

yeah mark, those winds were NO JOKE! i usually shoot clays in the trees, but i might have to hit the plains next time it's windy!

Shooting clays in high wind is, shall we say, humbling. I can't count the times when I pulled the trigger on what was "for sure" a dead bird only to have the bird like a stone 2 ft right as I pulled the trigger. All you can do is laugh. :neener:
