But the Magistrate tossed out the case because the junk car has no motor. Justice!
Depending on the state even if it runs, you're not in violation since it's often "hunting from a motor vehicle on the public roadway, or property used by the public in general" (so not in public parking lots adjacent to areas open to the public for hunting either). Otherwise they'd have to site guys hunting from powered wheel chairs.
I don't suppose that deer know the difference between a junk car without wheels or with..., so you could drop a car body from a flatbed and use that. I've seen guys put up scarecrows and then "assume the position" when it comes time to hunt.
I've also seen a fellow who found out the geese where he was trying to hunt (and having no luck with decoys), were flying from a nearby lake in an area where there was no hunting allowed because it was a public park. That park hosted lots of people in the warmer months who would feed geese. So...., this fellow set up his decoys in the middle of a field, in a tight group, all facing toward him. While standing in front of the geese, he would call geese flying in the distance with a call in his left hand, while swinging his right hand back and forth as though he was tossing corn to the decoys.
He figured the geese might see him pretending to feed the geese (his decoys) and vector in for a landing for a free meal. Worked like a charm. They'd come in drop low, and he'd unsling his 870 and start harvesting geese. A local warden came over to check him out, but because he wasn't actually using any feed, just making the motions as though he was tossing grain, no violation. And his limit was quickly reached.
