I just recently purchased a P99, and would like to know more about my specific gun. Some general information, such as when it was manufactured, would be nice. I don't neccessarily need previous owners and such.

Anyone know where I can get this info?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Petro. There is a Walther FAQ website (just do a search in Yahoo under "Walthe P99 FAQ", you'll see it) that shows you how to use the serial number to determine the manufacture date of your pistol.

Congratulations, I have been deelighted with my P99 since day one, I still can't get over the amazing accuracy. You will be too.

Thanks everyone for your help!

It's great to see fine people like those on this forum help each other out. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Based on the proofmarks and the date code, I have a confirmed a 100% German-made Walther P99, manufactured in 2000. That is exactly the info I wanted.

I just have 1 more question. Are the Walthers serial numbers sequential throughout the weapon's run, or is the sequence renumbered every year? Just kinda wondering where my Walther fits in sequentially from the begining.

Thanks again for everyone's help!!
