I was watching a little VH1 this morning and there was a commercial along the lines of 'Top 10 Reasons to Get Tested for HIV'. It started at 10 and counted down to 1 with things like 'Your Mother' or 'Your Spouse', I can't recall exactly - except for #1. Each reason had a little graphic or photo to illustrate the point.
#1. "Because You Are Not a Killer". The graphic was a target silhouette, with bullet holes. (And not all that great of a grouping, IMHO.)
This really caught my attention, I seem to always see the (not so) subtle anti-gun snipets. I always find it amazing how much effort is expended putting these little anti- messages in mainstream media.
Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but I would prefer if that statement were reworded to "Because You Are Not a Murderer". No graphic needed. Though, if required, I suppose a photo of the Senator from Massachusetts next to the Chapaquidic Bridge would suffice.
